What customers say about our strata gardening
Real reviews from our Google Business Profile, word for word.
Highly recommend. They took over from long-time gardeners for our apartment building and Sydney Gardners standard is far greater and less expensive.
Lachlan and his team were fantastic. They were professional and did the job in a timely manner. He gave me some great insights on how we could develop our business garden.
Can't thank Lachlan and the rest of the team enough for the professionalism and outstanding service I have received. I have been using their services for the past 18 months and I am always impressed with the results of their work. Highly recommended.
Been getting great service and value from Sydney gardeners now for a number of years, always great high quality work in my feature gardens. Attention to detail is second to none. No job to big for these boys to tackle.
I'm very happy with Lachlan and his team at Sydney Gardeners. They did a professional, clean and well-rounded job. I would highly recommend their work.

Turf
Commercial turf
Tired lawns replaced — commercial turf installation and contract mowing at scale.
Why one contractor
One service plan beats five contractors
Most complexes drift into juggling a mower, a hedge guy, a gutter company and whoever answered the phone last spring. Here's what that costs you.
| Juggling contractors | One Sydney Gardeners plan | |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices & admin | One per trade, per visit | One consolidated invoice |
| Accountability | "That's not our job" between trades | One contractor owns the whole grounds |
| Scheduling | You chase each contractor | Written schedule, planned year-round |
| Insurance & compliance | Verified per contractor, per year | Checked once — insured crews, compliant practices |
| Budgeting | Surprise bills through the year | One annual figure for the owners corp |
| Resident complaints | Land on the strata manager | Raised through us, resolved on the next visit |
Built for owners corporations
Why strata managers stay with us
Strata grounds aren't a backyard — they're shared assets with budgets, by-laws and a committee. Managing them well takes more than a mower, whether it's a six-unit block in the Inner West or a commercial frontage in the CBD.
Compliance, handled
Our practices comply with the regulations that apply to strata schemes, and every crew is insured on site — so the owners corporation isn't carrying risk for the gardening contractor.
Communication that actually happens
Work is approved through strata management before it happens, and we keep the dialogue going — so managers aren't fielding resident complaints about surprises in the courtyard.
Well-kept communal gardens do more than look good — they lift property values and the way residents feel about where they live.
Plans that fit the levies
Every complex gets a tailored service plan built around its goals and its budget — flexible enough to scale up for spring growth and back for winter.
- Extensive experience across Sydney strata complexes
- Uniformed crews, scheduled to minimise disruption
- One contractor for grounds, gutters and waste
- Landscape revamps as well as maintenance

Strata grounds, month by month
A year on well-run grounds
Good strata maintenance is planned around Sydney's seasons, not reactive. This is roughly how a service plan runs through the year.
December – February
Summer
Weekly mowing cycles while growth peaks, irrigation checked through the heat, and storm-damage sweeps after southerlies so paths stay clear and safe.
March – May
Autumn
Leaf clearing from paths and drains, gutters cleaned before winter rain, beds mulched and fed — the tidy-up that protects the buildings, not just the gardens.
June – August
Winter
Structural pruning and hedge renovation while plants are dormant, and the quiet season for project work — turf replacement, bed revamps, irrigation upgrades.
September – November
Spring
Fertilising and weed control before seeds set, seasonal colour planted, and mowing stepped back up — the complex looking its best for the AGM and inspection season.
Pricing
Pricing that fits the budget
Strata work is priced against the service plan, not by surprise. Scheduled contracts work out meaningfully cheaper per visit than one-off bookings.
One-off clean-ups
$60 – $85 /hr
Guide rate for catch-up tidies and pre-inspection blitzes.
Scheduled contracts
Per-visit pricing
Fixed against your tailored service plan — better rates than one-off work, predictable for the budget.
Multi-site portfolios
Custom quote
Consistent standards and consolidated invoicing across every building you manage.
Budget season coming up?
We'll put a written annual figure against your service plan so the owners corporation can budget the year's grounds maintenance in one line item — with seasonal work like planting, mulching and gutter cleaning scheduled in advance rather than billed as surprises.
For baseline hourly rates across gardening services, see our Sydney gardening price guide.

Before you sign anyone
Six questions to ask any strata gardener
Whoever you hire — us included — these are the questions that separate a grounds partner from a bloke with a ute.
Are you insured on site?
If not, the owners corporation may be carrying the risk. Every Sydney Gardeners crew is insured on site.
Who approves the work?
Work should run through strata management, not whoever happens to be in the courtyard. Ours always does.
Is the scope in writing?
A written service plan — what, how often, at what price — is the difference between maintenance and hoping.
How do residents raise issues?
There should be a clear channel. Issues raised through your manager reach us and get fixed on the next visit.
What happens to green waste?
Ask where it goes. Ours is separated and recycled, not dumped in the building's bins or landfilled.
What's the annual figure?
If a contractor can't put a yearly number against the plan, the budget can't hold them to it. We put it in writing.
Who you're dealing with
Owner-operated, not account-managed
When something needs sorting on your complex, you talk to the person responsible for fixing it — not a call centre, not this month's account manager. That's why strata managers keep us across whole portfolios.
