Sydney gardens, month by month

What your garden needs, and when

Sydney's climate is its own thing — humid summers, mild winters, and turf that never truly stops. Here's roughly how the year runs.

December – February

Summer

Weekly mowing while growth is at its peak, cut a little higher to shade the soil. Deep watering early morning, and keep an eye out for lawn grub.

March – May

Autumn

The best planting window of the year. Leaf clearing starts, beds get mulched before the cold, and mowing eases to fortnightly.

June – August

Winter

Pruning and hedge work while plants are dormant — the right time for anything structural. Lawns slow down and need far less attention.

September – November

Spring

Fertilise and get on top of weeds before they seed. Growth takes off fast, so this is when a neglected garden gets away from you.

Sydney's local gardeners

Gardens are easier to keep than to rescue

If your beds are deteriorating, your soil is tired, or the whole yard needs bringing back, our gardeners work across Sydney on residential, strata and commercial properties. Every crew is trained on the machinery they use and insured on site.

We hire locally in every area we service, because the gardener who knows your street is the one who does the better job.

As a local company we know how Sydney gardens behave — what survives a western-suburbs summer, what copes with coastal wind, and what strata committees actually need signed off. Our rates are competitive, and the work is what keeps people with us.

Expert garden maintenance

Maintenance is the bulk of what we do: tree and hedge pruning, debris removal, waste disposal, mowing, lawn care and pest control above and below ground. Some of it is heavy work most homeowners would rather not take on, and we're set up for it.

We recycle what we cut

Green waste from your garden is separated and recycled rather than landfilled. It costs a little more and it's the right way to run a gardening business in a city this size.

  • Over a decade in the Sydney gardening industry
  • Residential, strata and commercial experience
  • Short-notice work where a crew is nearby
  • Rubbish removal, gutter cleaning and pressure washing

Questions

Frequently asked

How much will a gardening job cost?
It depends on size, difficulty and how long the work takes. Regular maintenance is the cheapest option; large landscaping jobs needing machinery cost more. If you're planning a remodel, our design team can scope the work and advise on construction before anything starts.
Do I actually need a gardener?
If you're a business or a strata manager, the garden is the first thing visitors judge you on, and tired grounds are hard to explain to residents. For homeowners it's usually about weekends — most people would rather not spend them in the sun behind a mower.
What tools do you use?
Commercial-grade equipment, kept sharp and serviced. It matters more than people expect: a blunt mower blade tears grass out instead of cutting it, which browns the lawn. Poorly maintained tools are also how people get hurt.
Are you insured?
Yes. Every gardener is trained on the machinery they operate and covered while on site, so you're not liable for damage or injury during the job. Our crews are also police checked and hold a Working With Children Check.
Do you discount regular work?
Ongoing maintenance customers get better rates than one-off bookings, because scheduled work is easier for us to run. Ask when you call and we'll price it accordingly.
How quickly can you come out?
Quotes go out the same day. Depending on where you are and what the job needs, we can often be there within a day or two — occasionally the same day if a crew is already nearby.
